Scott Tissue

A few weeks ago, GFâ„¢ and I found a coupon for a pack of Scott Tissue in the Sunday Ads section of our local paper. So, we bought a small package just to try it out. Well, we just cracked it open and we both feel it's too thin for our tastes. Feels like I need twice what I normally use to just clean everything. Definitely we are not going to use Scott Tissue again once we use up this pack.

Reminded me of the tissue used in public bathrooms practically everywhere.

Way too thin.

Week in review

-Monday, Tuesday and Thursday walked for 1 hour on treadmill, averaging 2.3-2.6 miles each time.

-Interviewed for jobs on Thursday and Friday. If either one comes through, will more than likely start in 2008. Have interview scheduled for next Thursday, December 27th.

-Saw National Treasure: Book of Secrets last night. Very good movie. It reminds me of the Indiana Jones trilogy, but a more modern sense in that it's happening in modern times and it involves the lead character's family. Although, if there is a third one, and economically, they'd be stupid not to do so, it would be almost surprising where they pull the gold from. In the first, it was a treasure that any one nation shouldn't have. This time, it was the legendary lost city of gold.

Musings

Just got home from my first interview after being laid off. It was for a company called AVI Systems. I kinda know the area where they are located a little, always think I'd make a killing if I were to put a gas station over there as there doesn't seem to be one within about a mile of the nearest highway. Horrible if you run out of gas in that area, ya know.
Kinda doubt I'll get the position, but I'm hoping. *crosses fingers*

Jobless again and more

I shouldn't be angry with my old boss, but I guess I am, a little.
Yesterday, I go to work, not thinking anything is wrong. Work the whole day. GFâ„¢ calls at 5pm saying she just got up and says that we'll be going out for supper, since nothing was thawed. I hang up and then a minute later, she calls again. The temp agency I was going through for this job just called like a second after she hung up the phone. I was laid off.
The thing I'm upset about is that I have to find out at the end of the day when my boss is there the entire time. Now, granted, he may not have known when I got to work that morning, but as soon as he knew, he should have pulled me to the side and let me decide if I want to leave right then to start looking for a job or wait until the end of the day. Calling the temp aganecy is more of a formality, in my opinion, because obviously I'm more than likely going to be calling them up and telling them they let me go.

*dances Victory! dance* We're both working again!

We both have jobs!

GFâ„¢ got her new job at Honeywell while working for the Hell job. I call it the Hell job because she was put through so much harassment and harsh working environments that it amounted to essentially working in Hell.

She submitted her resume in to Honeywell, did the interview thing, passed the background check and drug tests with flying colors and she starts Monday. She'll eventually be on 3rd shift.

I am so proud. *sniff*

My story below the jump.

Went back to the Fair today.

Stopped and had Alligator Sausage On A Stick. A little spicy, but otherwise not too bad.

Still new to this, so bear with me...

Hopefully, the more I do this, the better I get. Or at least that is the theory...

Today at work, we had to do some training as it's audit time and as I'm new, I need to get caught up on things.
As I'm walking to the conference room in the other building across the parking lot, I spot this little bunny rabbit scrunched up in the gutter next to the curb. I leaned down and saw that it was just shaking like a leaf, it was so scared. I just smiled and went on my way to my training.
Three hours later, after the boring training was over and we all were heading back to work, I looked in the spot I saw it in before and it wasn't there. I looked around and didn't see any remains, so I'm guessing it got out of there when it had the chance.
When I was looking at the bunny, I remembered what I had read in the newspaper the day before about little animals you find lying around. My local Department of Natural Resources says to not touch or pick them up as more than likely they are not abandoned or injuried, just trying something new for the first time or are crossing those huge patches of human things we call roads,
parking lots or what have you.
In other words, it's best to leave the wild animals alone.

Until next time, whenever that may be...

Best explain what's going on...

Well, since I seem to be attracting notice here, I'd better introduce myself.

On here, my name is Goliath. Those of you that know my real name, please don't use it here.

I am a 26 year old Democratic atheist and damned proud of it! :p

I love watching TV and absolutely love my DVR. With it, I can record alot more shows than I used to be able to.

I'll be posting here when I feel like it, probably to make some weird observation or vent or something.

Short and sweet this time, I guess.
