Third Friday in January

Ok, starting next week, new program. Going to empty only {does math} 18% of the tank each week with rotating sets of three gallon jugs of prepped water. On the 4th week, will empty tank down to 50% to clean rock strata and rearrange decorations.1

Had to dose the tank three times with Parasite Clear because the female Pineapple Swordtail Molly had what appeared to be velvet along the top of her body between her head and her dorsal fin. She looks much better now.

We may have a bully in the male Red Swordtail Molly. He constantly goes after practically every other fish, but especially the Platies we have left. Almost constantly hanging around the female Pineapple Swordtail Molly. If I didn't know better, I'd almost swear it was a Remora, the way it hangs around the female Pineapple Swordtail Molly.2

We'll probably pick up a new fish or two this weekend. Especially now that the female Pineapple Swordtail Molly is looking better.

1-Or maybe I should wait until the first Friday in February, which would be the 1st of the month. Then my weeks all match up to the calendar weeks and it's easier to keep track of.*

2-In my opinion, we should take it back. We could kill it, but it doesn't look sick. Let someone else decide if the bullying behavior is natural or is just because he's jealous of any other fish being near its mate.

*-I could just be worrying over nothing.
